Lipotherme™ laser-assisted lipolysis (laser lipo) is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional liposuction procedures that utilizes a heat-generating laser to liquefy and then remove undesirable pockets of fat in targeted body zones. Developed by a team of European researchers, Lipotherme™ is a safe, non-surgical body sculpting treatment that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the United States.

Although traditional liposuction can be an effective method of improving the appearance of one’s physique, it is considered a highly-invasive surgical procedure and may require an extended post-surgical recovery period, in contrast to Lipotherme™ treatments, which enable patients to return to their normal activities within 24 hours.  Lipotherme™ is frequently used to treat the issue of stubborn fat deposits in the following areas: abdomen, back (upper and lower), thighs (inner and outer), face (chin and cheeks), knees, ankles, arms, hips (saddle bags).

LIPOTHERME BENEFITS

Lipotherme™ offers a number of unique body shaping benefits, including:

  • Efficient tool for reducing localized fat deposits in areas that have proven resistant to exercise and diet programs
  • Results in an overall circumference reduction in the targeted treatment zone
  • In addition to removing unwanted fat, Lipotherme’s thermal effect causes skin contraction, which firms and tightens the skin, enhancing the skin’s overall condition and appearance
  • Offers the convenience of a shortened procedure time and minimal post-treatment downtime
  • Least invasive alternative of all lipolysis (fat reduction/body shaping) procedures, and provides effective results with minimal discomfort
  • Patented technology allows patients to remain awake during the procedure and requires only a local anesthetic, thereby reducing the risk of potential anesthesia complications
  • Effective method of fat removal in areas of that body that are not treatable with traditional liposuction, such as: above the knees, the bra line, under the chin, and around the ankles

When selecting a physician to perform your Lipotherme™ laser-assisted lipolysis, it is imperative to choose a practitioner who has received the appropriate training to successfully perform Lipotherme™ laser lipo, such as Dr.  Jason Shapiro of Tribeca Medaesthetics, located in Miami Beach, Florida.  As the Medical Director of Tribeca Medaesthetics, Dr. Shapiro employs his extensive training and knowledge base to help his patients attain lean, sculpted physiques without having to undergo invasive surgical procedures requiring substantial post-treatment downtime.

LIPOTHERME™LASER LIPO PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

At your initial consultation, Dr. Shapiro will discuss your aesthetic goals and will thoroughly brief you on all pre- and post-procedure precautions. During your Lipotherme™ treatment, Dr. Shapiro will first administer a mild numbing agent (local anesthetic) to the treatment area, before inserting a small metal tube (cannula) under your skin. At this point in the procedure, he will employ the thermal power of a small laser beam to heat the targeted fat cells, liquefying them before aspirating (suctioning) them out of your body.

Although most patients find that they are able to resume their normal activities the day after their Lipotherme™ procedure, it is important to avoid strenuous physical activity for several days to allow the treated area to fully heal.  The initial results of your Lipotherme™ treatment will become apparent 1-2 weeks following your procedure, and will continue to gradually improve over the next 3-4 months. Because adult fat cells cannot grow back in the same area that they were excised from, Lipotherme™ treatments are generally considered “one-time” treatments—should you gain weight after having a Lipotherme™ treatment, the new fat cells will be stored in areas where you did not have the treatment.
