Although Dysport and Botox are made by different companies, they serve the same purpose, are both botulinum toxin type A proteins, offer results that last the same amount of time (3-7 months), and have the same basic structure. Some plastic surgeons have described the comparison of Botox vs. Dysport as a “Coke vs. Pepsi” choice, meaning that the two are nearly identical, but some patients and/or practitioners may subjectively prefer one over the other. There are, however, a few differences between the two wrinkle-reducing injectables:

  • Dysport begins to work faster than Botox—Dysport results become apparent within 1-2 days of treatment, while Botox results generally are not visible until 5-7 days after treatment.
