“Kybella offers our patients a fast, effective, and PAIN-FREE solution for permanently removing unwanted fat without the need for liposuction.”– Dr. Shapiro
How Does Kybella Work?
Deoxycholic Acid (the active ingredient of Kybella) works by breaking down targeted fat cells in the treatment area. This results in the permanent destruction of the fat cells yielding a slimmer, more contoured treatment area.
Once the fat cells are gone, they can no longer accumulate. Once you’ve achieved the desire slimming result, you will not need additional Kybella treatments in that area.
Each treatment typically requires up to 20 minutes and repeat treatments are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Most patients require up to 4 or 5 treatments to reach their aesthetic goal, however, they can expect to see a noticeable change after the 2nd treatment.Get Started

In your consultation, Dr. Shapiro will identify if Kybella is the right procedure for your areas of concern. He will also propose how many treatments you’ll require to achieve your aesthetic goal.
For each Kybella treatment, Dr. Shapiro will clean the treatment area with alcohol and then mark the injection locations. In order to ensure a pain-free procedure, Dr. Shapiro will mix Kybella with a Lidocaine (local anesthetic) prior to the injections.
Immediately after the procedure, you can expect local swelling and redness at the treatment location which will take several days to fully dissipate.
Once the procedure is completed, you will be given an icepack for the treatment area on your way out of the office. Dr. Shapiro recommends ice and Ibuprofen as needed for the first 24 hours after the procedure.
Our patient coordinators will follow up with you several days after your procedure to ensure you’re recovering as expected.Book a Consultation
