About Female Fertility Optimization

Fertility optimization includes various treatments that enhance a woman’s ability to conceive. In the United States, approximately 8.5 million women between the ages of 15 and 49 struggle with infertility, which can affect their quality of life and self-esteem. (1) Female infertility is defined as the inability to conceive and carry a pregnancy to term after 12 months of unprotected intercourse.

As women age, fertility issues become more likely. Women between the ages of 35 and 39 have a 25% chance of infertility, which increases to 50% between the ages of 40 and 44. (2) Fertility optimization treatments support hormonal balance, weight management, and lifestyle improvements to enhance the likelihood of a successful pregnancy.

Fertility Optimization vs. Fertility Clinic

Our medical practice helps women improve their health and focuses on increasing their chances of a successful pregnancy.

To be clear, TribecaMed is NOT a fertility clinic.

By definition, a fertility clinic is a medical clinic typically run by reproductive gynecologists or endocrinologists that provides assisted reproductive services to individuals and couples who have been unable to conceive naturally.

Hormone Balancing Treatments

Our hormone-balancing therapies include in-depth testing and personalized plans to help restore hormone levels for optimal fertility. At TribecaMed, we offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to address imbalances that can disrupt menstrual cycles, ovulation, and reproductive health. Hormonal imbalances can also affect fertility, alongside low libido and mood changes. BHRT for women is a plant-based treatment that replenishes your body’s hormone supply to improve your endocrine system and address hormone-related conditions. Balancing testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen levels may significantly enhance fertility outcomes.

Growth Hormone Peptide Therapy

Peptide therapy is an amino acid-based treatment we offer that is designed to enhance cellular communication throughout the body. More than 80 peptides are FDA-approved (3), and Sermorelin stimulates the pituitary gland’s production of growth hormones (GH). GH stimulates the liver to help it release a peptide called insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). GH and IGF-1 support ovarian reserve, which reflects the quantity and quality of a woman’s eggs. Sermorelin may improve fertility in individuals with low IGF-1 levels by promoting hormonal balance. (4) We will ask you to complete a lab panel to create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs.

Weight Management

Body weight can also have an impact on one’s reproductive health. Our personalized weight loss programs can help you achieve a healthier body mass index (BMI) to optimize your fertility.

We take a comprehensive approach to weight loss, which includes nutritional counseling, recommendations for exercise, and behavioral support throughout your weight loss journey. We offer semaglutide and tirzepatide, injectable medications colloquially known as the “skinny shot,” to optimize your endocrine system for effective weight loss. These medications increase your body’s insulin sensitivity by mimicking GLP-1 hormones: (5, 6,7)

Lifestyle Adjustment Recommendations

For optimal results, we recommend exercising regularly and incorporating healthy lifestyle changes into your daily routine. Eating nutritious meals and getting adequate sleep (7-8 hours each night) is important for effective weight loss and hormone balancing. Staying hydrated is also important to support your body during your weight loss journey. The most effective treatment for optimizing your fertility will depend on your medical history and goals. We can answer any questions you have during your consultation.

Personalized Nutrition and Supplement Programs

Personalized nutrition and supplement programs can provide your body with the nutrients you need to support your fertility and increase your chances of a healthy pregnancy. Our approach often includes nutrient deficiency testing. When designing your supplement regimen, we will consider your medical history, lifestyle, and various testing results.

FAQ

Do I need to lose weight to optimize my fertility?

If you are overweight, weight loss can significantly improve your fertility because weight changes can disrupt your hormone levels. During your consultation, we can perform a blood panel to recommend the most effective treatment plan for your needs.

How long will a fertility optimization treatment take?

The length of your treatment will depend on your symptoms. If weight loss is included in your treatment plan, fertility optimization can take several weeks to months. Nutritional supplements can also take some time to take effect.

How successful is fertility optimization?

The success of fertility optimization depends on several factors, including your medical history and reproductive health. We can address metabolic-related fertility issues to improve your chances of healthy contraception, and during your consultation, we will answer any questions you have.
